Hello & Welcome to Sew Damn Curvy. These are my adventures in plus size sewing. It's no secret that 90% of plus-size fashion is horrendous. So what's a fashionable, bigger size babe to do?

Sew Damn Curvy has everything from archives of my handmade wardrobe to reviews on patterns, classes and books. At 6 feet tall, 275 lbs. and a size 24, sewing clothes that fit my unique figure has been an interesting challenge! Tutorials will hopefully break down some techniques and I can always promise genuine, straight-forward talk on body image and self love!

It's nice to meet you! I'm Michelle Rivera, I swear like a sailor and I live in Nashville, with my partner of 9 years & our daughter. I spend my days playing My Little Ponies, sewing for a local bag maker & voraciously reading sewing books, fashion files and fitting information. I love to read, knit, drink tea, explore, support local artisans and eat.
